Hey it’s Lauren here, with my final weekend recap! I had such an awesome time this summer in the cruiser, I got to attend events I never would have even known were happening, and meet a bunch of amazing people along the way.
This past Saturday I went to the FSJ Farmers Market all morning long, the market was full of fresh garden produce, I ended up leaving with a bag full of garlic, spaghetti squash and zucchini. The spaghetti squash, I was especially excited about since they were miniature and the perfect size for a girl returning to college, only cooking for one.
The rest of the day I spent at Fort City Chrysler for their 2nd Semi-Annual Jeep Show and Shine. There was an awesome turn out, with some super cool rides. I even got to be one of the non-biased judges! There was also lots of goodies like cookies, chips and coffee.
First thing on Sunday morning I stopped at the FSJ Literacy Society’s 5K Retro Run, and let me be the first to say that the costumes were the bomb.com! All the participants were super fast and everyone finished within the first hour. Considering the rain and cold weather, the turn out was great and I was super impressed with how many brave participants made it.
Next stop was down in Taylor at the First Annual Black Swan Bombers Mixed Softball Tournament. Sunday was the third day of playing so I came just in time to watch the semi-playoff games. All seasons of weather were experienced this weekend and yet the tournament went off without a hitch! It was great to see everyone embracing the sport and enjoying one of the last weekends of the summer.
My last stop this weekend was at the Lone Wolf Golf Club’s Club Championship Tournament. The cruiser’s last weekend in action ended with VIP parking, and lots of love as everyone gathered to listen to the junior players interview on air. It was the best way to finish the weekend and I was so impressed with kind everyone was, even after being on the course all weekend long. The junior players were by far the best sports as they shared about their weekend with me, on and off the record.
All in all I had a fantastic final weekend in the Hair Bin Summer Cruiser, I am sad to see the summer end along with my position as the Summer Cruiser Girl. Though, I am also very grateful for the opportunity to spend my summer this way. Thank you everyone who welcomed me with open arms at their events and for sharing the ins and outs of how these events came to be, I had just the best time at each and every one.
That is all for now,
Your Hair Bin Summer Cruiser Girl, Lauren
