Every new year we as a society say “let’s do better”, “I can do Better” as a way of encouraging ourselves to be be better people to each other and to ourselves. It’s a great rhetoric and a great ritual to have. Shed the remains of your old self, move on and be a better person. Who wouldn’t want that?
What gets to me the most is how quickly people tend to give up on their “new self” dreams and aspirations. The average person will have given up on their new years resolutions before the end of January. Essentially giving up on moving on, making better choices and being a better society all together.
Some people just skip the part of making resolutions because they know int he end it’s not going to happen.
Kind of Sad isn’t it?
Maybe lying to yourself less is your resolution. and if it is, good for you. be truthful. be happy.
But if that wasn’t your idea of what to do differently this year, I am here to encourage you to stick to your goals.
Don’t waste your money on that gym membership, keep going! don’t quit !
