Don’t let the gloomy forecast keep you inside this weekend! We have another fun packed weekend with lots of big events in the Peace region. If you want to kick your weekend off with a new activity then head over to the Pomeroy Sports Centre for Wheelchair Sports tomorrow night, I’ll be there checking things out. On Saturday I am going to be down at Peace Island Park boat launch in the morning where lots of boats are going to be launching and heading up the Pine river for the BC Peace Country River Rats annual Poker Rally. I’ve done the Poker Rally for a few years and can tell you it is so much fun! There are all kinds of prizes to be won with the best – and worst – poker hands, as well as a ton of games for the kids all day long. I’ll be stopping in on the “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” golf tournament at Lone Wolf before I head through town to catch Paddle For The Peace as they come off the river around 1:30 pm. After the paddle they have a line-up of speakers from all over who have come to the event and then Miss Quincy is wrapping up with the “After Paddle” at the Lido. On Sunday you can find me at the Fort St. John Motocross track for their races, as well as in Taylor checking out the Farmer’s Market and the Doug Babcock Memorial Races at the Taylor Speedway. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open because these races may be postponed depending on the weather. If not, I’ll see you there!
