Hey it’s Lauren and I know this weekend recap is a little late but I just wanted to share with you guys what a rockin’ weekend I had. I had such an absolute blast this weekend at all the events that I attended.
On Saturday I went to the Stingray Swim Meet that was held at the North Peace Swimming pool and it ran all weekend, there was over 120 swimmers from clubs all around the North Peace. It was so cool to learn all about how a swim meet works and speak with the head coach Victoria about her experiences with the Stingray swim club over the years.
After watching some swimming races I made the trek out to the Fall Fair Grounds where the 4H Achievement Days were taking place. I was so impressed with all the people that braved the rain and cold to show appreciation to all the kids that had completed these projects. They all did such a good job!
My Saturday afternoon was filled with the Home Hardware Garage Sale which was moved inside because of the not so sunny weather but still such a hit! I found so many goodies, probably too many goodies but thats okay. They even had a barbecue that was put on my NEAT and that went both Friday and Sunday.
Since the weather was not so great, some of my events were canceled so I went down to the Taylor Public Library where a board game afternoon was being hosted. My grandparents joined me for my afternoon events so I got to enjoy some card games with them and I was even offered some popcorn! They made us feel so at home and I was so comfy and cozy!
Sunday was just as full with adventures but they weren’t actually in Fort St. John so I spent to the day enjoying what other communities had to offer. My first stop was at the Taylor Market which is held the second Saturday of each month and it runs from 9am to 3pm. They had a bunch of home vendors, baked goods, and even a green house that brought down hanging baskets.
After doing some shopping I drove to Peace Island Park where the Metis Fiddling and Jigging Jamboree was running all weekend. They were hosting a Pancake breakfast so I got to enjoy the very sunny morning with a cup of Joe listening to some awesome fiddling. It was so peaceful and just made my day.
My Sunday afternoon was filled with a drive down to Dawson Creek where there Multicultural Fusion Festival was well underway when I got there. It was such a fun afternoon, I got to learn how to hoola hoop, play frisbee golf, and I got a henna! I try and get a henna every summer so I was so excited when I found someone doing them. The festival went till 4pm, and then it was time to head home.
Thats all for now,
