Hey its Lauren hrab here, and I had the most jam packed Saturday, I just wanted to share all the adventures I had!
This morning, more rain than shine, I headed out to Big Bam Ski Hill where Vertical SLAM Ultimate Challenge was taking place! By the time I got there all the races had finished except for the best one, the obstacle course. With all the recent down pouring of rain, the ground was mud up to my ankles and I did not think to bring my gum boots or put the cruiser into four wheel drive, I ended up getting stuck in the mud! Everyone laughed and the race started around my very dirty summer cruiser. All in all mud makes the races more fun, or at least thats what it looked like from the runners of the obstacle course!
When I got back to town, I went to the green space on 100th ave and 100th St. to check out the World Fair. There were so many people attending which is awesome, the dancing was really cool to watch and there were 15 countries attending the event for the public to tour.
After catching some of the dancing and catching up with the organizers at the World Fair I hopped across the street to the North Peace Cultural Centre, where the Art Market and Big Print Days was being held. I toured all the booths set up there and got a chance to watch a road roller make the big prints!
So after all the festivities down town I thought I might want to finish my afternoon with the museum and the seniors hall. At the museum I got to catch the beginning of the book reading of “A Century in the North” but had to scoot because I didn’t want to miss the Annual Music Jamboree that was being held at the Senior Hall. I had some delicious strawberry raspberry pie with ice cream and it was by far the tastiest thing I have eaten all day. There were a number of bands sharing their music, which everyone gladly got up and danced. It was a great finish to an already awesome day!
If you would like me to attend your event you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the station at 250-787-7100.
Thats all for today,
