“You can’t judge a book by its cover.”
You never know who the person is without knowing them; but you also don’t know what kind of day they are having. Today is ‘Pay It Forward’ Day, where the Fort St John Association For Community Living is encouraging people to do Random Acts of Kindness.
You never know how you actions could impact someone’s day.
A few years ago my family woke to find our dog had fallen ill and was really struggling.
It was decided to take him to the vet, but we were not hopeful. Unfortunately, I was unable to get my shift at work covered so in a daze I got ready and walked out the door without eating.
Halfway to work my stomach was not happy so I pulled into the nearby Tim Horton’s drive-thru.
After struggling to form sentences due to the shock I was experiencing, I placed my order and drove up to the window. It turns out the kind person in front of my paid for my breakfast.
It was such a small thing, but after the heartache of the morning it blew my mind.
Today I want to encourage you to share what you can, even if it is just a smile or conversation with someone. A small act of kindness can go a long way.
“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.” -Aesop
