Everyone loves to find out how unexpectedly gross the things they use or touch every day, right?
Either way… sorry about this next information I’m about to share with you. I can’t help myself.
Here’s the deal with; your toothbrush. You may have heard that keeping it within 6 feet of your toilet is a no-no, because somehow fecal matter and microbes floating around the area will make it all the way onto the thing you need to keep your mouth clean.
So, ok, maybe to combat this, you’ve been putting your toothbrush in an enclosed container. Like one of those plastic travel toothbrush tubes. However, experts say; “Putting a plastic cap toothbrush cover on is a problem because those act like petri dishes and grow viruses and bacteria inside them.”
Alright, fine. So you keep your ‘brush in an upright holder and you’ve measured to be sure it’s more than 6 feet away from the toilet, but even NOW you’re not safe. How often are you actually disinfecting that holder aside from just rinsing it? It could have nearly 113 times the germs of a standard doggy chew toy.
Good luck with your morning routine, ya filthy animal.
