This weekend we saw just how supportive our community really is! There were a lot of fundraising that happened this weekend. We held our Movies In The Park on Friday night with The Peanuts Movie and Never Been Kissed. There is one more Movies this summer, don’t miss it!
Saturday started off with the St. Martin’s Anglican Church yard/bake sale at the Museum to raise funds to rebuild the church. Reverend Enid kindly got me up to date with where they are in the rebuilding process and well as provided me with some history of the church! After I stopped in at the farmers market, I headed over to Rudy’s Highway Car and Truck Wash where they were holding the Kelly Clark Wheelchair Fundraiser. The cruiser got cleaned up and I got to chat with Kelly himself who was hopeful they would raise lots of money! I cruised out to Lake Point afterwards to check out the Ladies’ Golf Fore The Cure tournament, stopped in at the Hope Air fundraiser at the Northern Vac Track and dropped by the Lido where they were getting ready for the Metal Show to wrap up the day.
Sunday started off with a scenic drive out to Bear Flats where I got to pick some peas at the Hip Peace Produce garden. I spent the rest of the day at the Northern Lights Raceway where they were doing the elimination races in all the classes. There were a ton of local racers that took to the 1/4 track, and I got to see my favorite races, the bike/sled class! The Raceway was having a food drive all weekend long to raise funds and collect food for the Women’s Resource Centre in Fort St. John.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and all the fundraisers reached their goals! I’ll be back in the cruiser in August, come check it out all over the community!
