Another weekend for the books! On Friday I headed down to Lone Wolf Golf Club for the Ronald McDonald House Charity Tournament which raised money for the Vancouver and Edmonton Ronald McDonald Houses. I got to meet Ronald himself, although clowns terrify me, and someone took home the Hole-In-One prize which was a pickup from Fort City Chrysler! Saturday started off at Peace Island Park where I helped out with Registration for the BC Peace Country River Rats Poker Rally. Families headed up the Pine River picking up poker cards along the way for prizes later that day. The kids, or Pi-Rats, had a ton of games and prizes throughout the day as well. I stopped in at the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” Golf Tournament at Lone Wolf as well as the 25th Anniversary Links Open to wish the Hollands congratulations on 25 years at Links Golf Course. I finished off the day out at the Fall Fair grounds where they were holding the North Peace 4H Achievement Days. I got to see some prize winning live stock and watch kids and their animals take on the obstacle course. This Sunday I spent my day at the FSJ Motocross Track where the North Peace Motocross Association was holding their 6th race of the 2016 season complete with racers from the 30+ Vet Master classes all the way down to the 50 CC 4-6 year old class. I spent the rest of the afternoon at the Doug Babcock Memorial races at the Taylor Speedway. Their next race is August long weekend. It turned out to be a beautiful weekend despite the nasty forecast we saw earlier in the week. With this weekend wrapped up I cannot wait for CanolaFest next weekend, see you there!
