Another weekend comes to a close this Sunday evening, and I hope everyone made the best of their July long weekend. My weekend in the summer cruiser kicked off on Friday with all of the Canada Day festivities. I took part in the parade, the party in Centennial Park, as well as checked out the Pie Sale, Classic Cruisers Show N’ Shine and the World Fair. We also had the CanolaFest tent set up selling tickets for CanolaFest and entering for the Tim Hick Meet N’ Greet. Saturday I hung out at the Hair Bin’s 30th Anniversary celebration for awhile where they had a Cut-A-Thon, live music, tons of deals and a $10,000 give away. I also cruised around to some garage sales, out to Charlie Lake and down to the Farmer’s Market where I spent too much money – as usual. I love supporting local at the Farmer’s Market and this weekend I bought a sign for my mom, got a henna tattoo and I adopted a new furry friend (a kitten named Nacho). Oops. Sunday was a bit more quite due to everyone being on the lake, camping and doing all kinds of fun things for the long weekend. I hung out at Peace Island Park, the Community Garden and Centennial Park talking about all the great events coming up next weekend! I also got to test ride some bikes up at the Fish Creek Community Forest where Ernie’s was hosting a Test the Best Bike Demo. I got to ride a motorized bike that enhances your regular pedal speed (super cool), as well as a single-shock bike called the Lefty, and managed not to crash. I hope your July long weekend was great and I can’t wait to see you all next weekend!
